Our story Eran & Elisa
Mackage - About US | Mackage Canada Online
Mackage was created around the belief that outerwear is an integral element of fashion. When the weather calls for layering, a coat isn't just a part of an outfit—it becomes the outfit itself. Season after season, Mackage creates classic coats with a sexy, modern edge and the brand's signature sleek, chic silhouettes.
Canadian natives and childhood friends, Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan, spent their school days sketching designs and planning their future in fashion. After attending design school together, LaSalle College in Montreal, Eran and Elisa launched what would become one of the most prestigious outerwear brands in North America. The brand name, also a part of the family tradition, was inspired by Eran's niece's mispronunciation of "maquillage"—the French word for makeup.
The designers each infuse their personalities and unique vision into the design, resulting in a collection with great balance. Mackage counts two stand alone boutiques – one in New York's famed Soho, and the other in trendy St Germain in Paris. In the United States, Mackage is also available in Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Henri Bendel, etc. Internationally, it can be found at Holt Renfrew and Aritzia, in Canada, Harvey Nichols in Europe and Asia, and prestigious specialty boutiques worldwide.
In 2010, the designers launched their first women's ready-to-wear collection. First shown at New York Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2010 season, the designers are now on their fourth RTW season.
The brand also counts a condensed, well-edited collection of outerwear for men, which launched for Fall/Winter 2008.
Celebrities such as Halle Berry, Eva Mendes, Frieda Pinto, Jessica Biel, Blake Lively, and the Kardashians, among others, have all worn Mackage outerwear and ready-to-wear collections.
The brand's parent company, APP Group, is a leader in the outerwear market and was founded by Eran's older brothers Michel and Ilan Elfassy.
The design duo is based in Montreal, Canada – and divides their time between New York and Montreal.
